Description
Leading Lady Mary Eliza Church Terrell was a force! She was a suffragist and a Civil Rights Pioneer who Fought to Abolish Lynching & Helped Fight Jim Crow Laws, an activist, author, educator, and a Charter Member of the NAACP who helped desegregate Washington, D.C. Restaurants.
Mary was the first President of the National Association of Colored Women and one of the first Black women to obtain a master’s degree. Mary was the first Black woman appointed to the Washington, D.C. School Board! Learn more about Leading Lady Mary Church Terrell.
